Life Update: Two Months As Mum's!

Can you believe Annabelle is two months old!!!!

It's fair to say that the last weeks have been filled with so much, so much love, so much happiness, so many firsts from Annabelle, so many visits to and from family and friends and so much fun. It has certainly been unforgettable.

When Annabelle arrived mid-way through the world cup we were celebrating alongside the rest of England but thankfully our celebrations have lasted longer than England's. Those first England games will always be memorable though. Listening to England win on penalties while holding my little day old girl in a hospital bed will always bring tears - happy ones - but for a football fan, like me, it was a great day.

Our next game was shared with our next door neighbours, Annabelle slept through most of it but she was dinky and startled every time there was a loud noise. The third game she watched was at my parents house where she fed the whole time. Each game was memorable - less for the football, more for the Annabelle moments.

Our families have been ever present, my Mum visits every week, my sister has spent weekends visiting to take care of her and Laura's parents get regular video updates via the Marco Polo app. Her Uncle Jason has visited and my Dad often calls to check we are all okay. Annabelle has taken part in calls to Australia to meet her Auntie Kate and all her Australian Great Grandparents and family over there.

We have also taken her on a road-trip to meet her Great Grandparents in the UK and her family based down south. It was a three day road-trip filled with plenty of memories that we will make sure and remind Annabelle about when shes older.

In the last two months we have had days out to Stratford Upon Avon, Redditch and into Birmingham, she's been out for brunches, lunch and dinner and thankfully slept through them all. She even joined us for a Nando's - we thought we would start her young :)

We've taken her blackberry picking, she's taken part in a Mexican fiesta and been involved in more photoshoots than she's wanted to be in. She loves going out on walks, and while loving her wrap she's now trying to push herself out so we may be ready for a front facing option. She is also happy in the car. Annabelle enjoys a bath and her sleep - in fact she loves her sleep as much as she loves food! And on the third of September we tracked our official first night of undisturbed sleep.

Tummy time is something Annabelle has enjoyed since the start and she has always been able to hold her head up but recently she has been looking around and making attempts to move, she's even got to rolling onto to her side down. Oh and grabbing. It's a scary combination as it means she can now pull things into her that we thought were out of reach.

Annabelle's love of Bisbee and vice versa has also been a highlight, you can see how they are getting on here: Having A Baby And A Dog.

For anyone who has followed us on Instagram you will have seen we are loving motherhood and while we are besotted with Annabelle - in fact we lose hours just staring at her - we have also made time for ourselves. My Mum and sister have allowed us to take time to ourselves in the house but they also enabled us to head to a wedding reception and to see Britney in concert.

So all in all it's been a busy, enjoyable, love filled first couple of months with Annabelle.

There have been the hospital and doctors check up too and we needed to go back for two separate hip scans, as she was breech, before being officially discharged but we will do whatever it takes as long as our baby girl is healthy and happy.
